The "Les Vignasses" cuvée has become "Le Pionnier" because 40 years ago it was the estate's 1st cuvée. But also because, thanks to it, the estate was the forerunner in direct sales in the Cèze valley.
April: With spring, the vines continue to wake up. Budburst continues: the buds open and small leaves appear. The shoots and leaves grow, and sap once again circulates through the plant. Pruning is finished, and the winegrowers train the vines on wires, i.e. they tie the vines horizontally on wires to hold the shoots in place (this is called tying, also known as "accolage").
